T
he 2015/16 rugby season is proving to be both busy and successful for the Jes. With three squads and over 90 boys involved, the school will participate in up to 40 rugby fixtures this year. Teachers Steve Parkinson and Sinéad Armstrong-Anthony manage and coach the three squads with invaluable additional coaching support being provided by a number of parents.
We have just wrapped up both the Junior and Senior leagues. As it stands, on fixtures played, both squads sit comfortably in the top four of their league tables – a testament to their hard work and commitment in the field. A highlight of the season so far was beating the Bish in highly competitive games at both Junior and Senior level to bring home the Frank Berry Cup. We look forward to a competitive and successful Cup season in the New Year.
The U14s league season is ongoing. Good numbers and a strong squad mean that the future of Jes rugby is in good hands.
