Peter McVerry is a Jesuit, and has worked tirelessly to provide shelter and support to vulnerable young people on the margins of society in Dublin for over 30 years.
Peter started his work with the homeless from a flat in Ballymun. Today, the Peter McVerry Trust manages eleven homeless hostels, over 100 apartments, a residential drug detox centre and two drug stabilisation services. Last year, the Trust worked with almost 3,600 vulnerable youth.
Peter’s work at the frontline with vulnerable young people has given him rare insight into issues such as drug addiction, poverty, homelessness, juvenile justice and education. As a Jesuit Social Activist Peter is a strong advocate for those who have no voice.
Please come and hear Peter talk about Social Justice and his vision for radical change!
