he Western Regional Drugs Task Force (WRDTF) in conjunction with the Gardaí, HSE and Western Region Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) Support Service will be holding a talk in the Griffin Hall at Coláiste Iognáid on Wednesday 8th February, from 7.30 – 9pm.
During the evening, the Gardaí will present the current situation with drugs in the region, the legal situation and what to look out for. The WRDTF Education Worker will look at communicating with your children about drugs and will outline the three session drugs information programme that will follow later. The SPHE service will present what is happening in the school in SPHE re. drugs/alcohol awareness and how this happens. The HSE Drug Service will inform the parents of their services in this area.
